Welcome to Rainbow Lake

January 1, 2016

Camp Sundog is a unique waterfront camp located on Rainbow Lake, New York.  Nestled on its own private peninsula in the Adirondack Park, the camp boasts over 400 feet of waterfront with swimming just feet from the porch.  Launch one of our canoes or kayaks from our dock located in a secluded cove.  Enjoy spectacular lake views from three sides of the cabin and illuminated throughout the day by the sun.  Watch the sunrise from Adirondack chairs right on the water’s edge.  In the evening, enjoy roasting s’mores at the fire circle. The cabin is decorated in Adirondack style with a modern twist.  Special details include a handmade 8-foot fused glass entranceway, antler light fixtures, and rustic furniture.

Rainbow Lake is located in the northern portion of the park near Saranac and Lake Placid.  The lake features 25 miles of largely uninhabited interconnecting waterways including Lake Kushaqua, Clear Pond, and Buck Pond.  Meandering shoreline provides excellent wildlife viewing for canoeists.  Since Rainbow Lake does not have a public boat launch, water traffic is minimal.  Water skiers can enjoy long, uninterrupted rides.  The lake is periodically stocked, ensuring excellent fishing.  Bring your fish back to the camp to cook on our gas grill, and serve at our lakeside picnic table.

Sincerely,
