Location

Camp Sundog is located on Rainbow Lake, the Gold Coast of the Adirondacks. Known by the Abenaka Indians as the “Bow in the Sky,” the slender lake features over six miles of largely uninhabited coastline. The water is peaceful and pristine. Rainbow Lake does not have public boat ramps, so water traffic is limited to those residing on the lake, offering pleasant evening cruises and excellent waterskiing. Canoeists can explore the meandering coastline that is rich in wildlife such as loons, beaver, and bitterns. The lake has several adjoining destinations including Clear Pond and the Rainbow Narrows. A family favorite day trip is to The Flow, a passageway leading to a pond constructed by beavers. Enjoy your lunch on a secluded island campsite.

Camp Sundog is nestled on a private peninsula with over 400 feet of waterfront. Walk out the front porch to enjoy swimming off the point, with a soft sand bottom and illuminated the entire day by southern light. Lake views can be enjoyed from three sides of the house. Private coves on either side enhance the retreat feel of the camp.

Camp Sundog is a unique waterfront camp decorated in an Adirondack style, but with a modern twist. The camp’s spectacular views are accented with antler light fixtures, and a 8 foot long fused glass scene spanning the living room entrance.
